FAQ
The questions we get most often
Wild-caught sockeye salmon is the only ingredient. There are no added preservatives, binders, glycerin, colors, or flavors.
Yes. Single-ingredient freeze-dried salmon suits both dogs and cats at all life stages, as a treat or a food topper. Cats generally need smaller portions because of their size. See the feeding guidelines for suggested amounts by body weight.
Dehydrating uses heat to evaporate moisture. Freeze-drying freezes the salmon, then removes the ice as vapor under vacuum. This process is called sublimation and produces a light, crisp texture.
Alaska. Our sockeye is wild-caught by independent local fishermen and flash-frozen within hours of leaving the water. It is never farmed, never dyed, and never treated with antibiotics. More on sourcing.
No refrigeration is needed. Freeze-drying removes almost all the moisture, so an unopened pouch is shelf-stable. After opening, press the air out, reseal it, and keep it somewhere cool and dry. Check the best-by date printed on the pouch.
No. These are a treat or topper, not a complete and balanced diet. Standard veterinary guidance is to keep treats under 10% of daily calories, with the rest coming from a complete food.
Third-party laboratory testing is part of our quality process. We manufacture in-house under HACCP, GMP and FSMA-compliant processes. More on quality and safety.
A single-ingredient treat makes it far easier to know what your companion is actually reacting to, which is why they are often used alongside elimination diets. If your pet has a diagnosed condition or is on a prescribed diet, check with your veterinarian before introducing a new treat.
Shipping is calculated at checkout against your address, using live carrier rates. Orders over $40 after discounts and before tax qualify for free ground shipping. Faster shipping options cost extra. Treats are made in small batches, so orders leave us within 2 business days, and once a parcel is with the carrier, delivery usually takes two to five business days.
We ship with UPS and FedEx to street addresses in the lower 48 states and the District of Columbia. We do not currently ship to Alaska, Hawaii, US territories, or APO/FPO addresses, and our carriers can’t deliver to a PO box, so please give us a street address at checkout. The full details are in our Shipping Policy.
Contact us as soon as possible with your order number and a description of the problem. Keep the packaging and batch code, and take photos. We'll work with you to make it right with a replacement or refund, as appropriate. Our contact form accepts text; we'll tell you how to send photos when we reply.
Our pet treats are final sale. We do not accept returns, exchanges or refunds for a change of mind or a pet's taste preferences, whether the pouch is opened or unopened. Damaged, incorrect or defective products are handled under our Returns & Refunds policy. Your rights under applicable law are unaffected.
Contact us within one hour of placing your order and include your order number. We can only cancel before the order ships, and a request is not confirmed until we reply. Confirmed cancellations receive a full refund, including any shipping charges and tax. See Returns & Refunds for details.
